Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After having breakfast in the early morning and packing our lunch boxes, we make our way towards Serengeti National Park through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoying game drives along the way, there is a chance to visit Olduvai Gorge, where the Leakey's made groundbreaking archaeological discoveries in the 1950s. Pre-booking is necessary for this visit. After lunch, we continue on into the vast plains of the Serengeti, occasionally stopping to observe acacia trees and kopjes scattered throughout the landscape. December, January, and February are prime months to witness the migration of large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. And of course, resident animals like giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants can be seen year-round, along with formidable predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drives in this magnificent park. Start your day early to maximize your time. Your driver-guide will select the best spotting locations according to the season. The game drives will take you from the wide-open plains to the kopjes—volcanic rocky outcrops that offer protection and shelter for a variety of animals. From the tops of these kopjes, you can gaze across the vast Serengeti grasslands. This diverse and captivating landscape promises exceptional game viewing opportunities, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and, if you're fortunate, the elusive leopard and cheetah. You'll also encounter a wide array of fascinating birdlife, from elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. In the afternoon, continue your journey to Ngorongoro for dinner and an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Safari Lodge on a full board basis.
