Hiking from Karanga Camp to Barafu campsite
You will begin your descent this morning by hiking east over valleys, ridges, and other obstacles to join the Mweka Route. You will receive a hot lunch at the Barafu Hut if you turn left in the direction of the mountain and continue hiking up the ridge through a sparse landscape for an additional hour. Karanga Valley is the final water source on this route because Barafu Cam does not have water. Despite the fact that the Swahili word for ice is Barafu. Barafu Camp is close to the mountain's peak, and far above it are the famous snows of Kilimanjaro. Because your tent will be set up on a windswept, narrow, stony ridge, you should familiarize yourself with the area before it gets dark to avoid getting hurt. Make preparations for your summit climb, including warm clothing and plenty of fluid intake. Sleep in for a few valuable hours after an early dinner.
Barafu to Uhuru Peak then Back to Mweak Campsite
After a cup of hot tea and some biscuits, you'll wake up around 11:30 p.m. and drift off into the night. The most difficult section of the route for most climbers is a six-hour northwest climb up heavy scree between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers to Stella Point on the crater rim. At Stella Point, which is 5,685 meters/18,650 feet up, you stop for a brief rest and get a chance to see a brilliant sunrise. On your final hike along the rim to Uhuru Peak, you may encounter snow, depending on the season and current storms. You will be able to take pleasure in your achievement while you are at the summit, and you will know that you have created a day that you will cherish for the rest of your life. After your 3-hour plummet from the highest point back to Barafu Camp, Descend to Mweka Camp. This camp is in the upper timberland, so you can expect fog or downpours in the late evening.
