Day 1

Arrival at Kigali international airport and transfer to Nyungwe Forest national park

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, meet our guide driver for a short briefing. Then embark on a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a home for chimpanzee tracking/trekking, canopy walk experience and now zipline adventure. Driving southwest of Rwanda will take you about 188Km or 227Km depending on the location of your booked lodge or 4-6 hours.

While on a drive to Nyungwe, you can decide to check by the cultural museum centers at Nyanza or Ethnographic museum in Butare Rwanda. The Museum is a great stopover where you can see what culture was like before colonization era, including clothing, food, production, hunting, storage, music, money and traditional ritual objects among so many things under exhibition. Continue for your lunch break in butare town about 1.5Km drive.

later, continue to Nyungwe Forest national Park for about 55Km driving through scenic hills of Rwanda, check-in your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Wake up early to enjoy your morning breakfast, Join your guide for the transfer to the park reception for briefing before entering the forest to search for the playful fellow chimpanzees in the forest. Knowing that the chimpanzee are easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chatting and laughing. The chimpanzee tracking will take about 3-6 hours or more less depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Once you spot them, you will be allocated one hour time to spend with them. After the experience, get back to the starting point as you wait for your next activity.

During this afternoon, you can relax as you enjoy your packed lunch, later drive or have a walking trail to the canopy walk- a swing bridge of 50m suspended across large trees. This gives you an opportunity to see amazing looking rainforest with a bird's eye view, spotting wildlife moving about or below you. Then take a hoke for about 1-2 hours depending on your pace and transfer to Bukavu for overnight stay.

Day 3

You will have an early breakfast and cross Cyangugu Rwanda Congo border to the Park Headquarters of Kahuzi-Beiga National Park for a briefing from the park officials, on the dos and don’ts of your Congo lowland Gorilla trek adventure. You will be allocated a Gorilla Family to track and here you will join guides and expert trackers to lead you in finding the Gorillas, take advantage of an astounding biodiversity and the world’s highest concentration of western lowland gorillas. Upon sighting the Gorillas, you will be allowed to stay with them for one hour during which you will experience the awesome experience of watching these gentle giants feed, play and care for their young. The experience take about 2-4 hours or more depending on their location. After your trek, return to the Park Headquarters where you will meet with your driver to transfer back to the Hotel / Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today you will have a relaxed morning time, wake up for breakfast and get ready for the transfer back to Kigali for a compounding city tour to the Genocide Museum and then departure in the evening or late night depending on your travel plans. This marks the end of your trip.
