Day 1
Your day begins with an early morning transfer to Mabamba Swamp, located along the shores of Lake Victoria. You will board a traditional canoe and glide through the papyrus channels in search of the elusive shoebill. Guided by experienced local bird guides, you will also spot a variety of wetland species such as malachite kingfishers, African jacanas, herons, and egrets.
After the shoebill experience, you will return to Entebbe for lunch before continuing to the Botanical Gardens for an afternoon birding walk. The gardens provide a peaceful setting to observe forest and lakeshore species including black-and-white colobus monkeys, hornbills, weavers, sunbirds, and other resident birds.
In the late afternoon, you will transfer back to your hotel or the airport.
This short safari is ideal for layover travelers, photographers, and birding enthusiasts seeking a focused yet diverse birding experience near Entebbe.
