The lagoon, salt pans and the bird sanctuary, which form the Walvis Bay Wetlands, are rightly heralded as the single most important coastal wetlands of Southern Africa. Sandwich Harbour, a little less than 60km south of Walvis Bay in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, is one of Namibia’s most unique and dramatic sites. About Brandberg White Lady Lodge Damaraland

You have travelled! You have seen places! Brandberg White Lady Lodge in Damaraland will add to your travel experience through Damaraland.

The White Lady is a rock painting, located on a panel, which also displays other art work. The paintings can be found on a small rock overhang, deep within Brandberg Mountain. The giant granite monolith located in Damaraland and called 'The Brandberg' is Namibia's highest mountain. The painting's German name is WeiĂźe Dame.

The painting has long been an archaeological dilemma, and several different hypotheses have been put forth on its origins, authorship and dating. It is now usually accepted to be a bushmen painting dating back to at least 2000 years. We have a scenic sunset drive booked for you in the afternoon.

We scour the plains in search of the Namib Desert Elephant.

The desert elephants are roaming the Ugab River. Desert elephants or desert-adapted elephants are not a distinct species of elephant but are African bush elephants (Loxodonta africana) that have made their homes in the Namib.

We will take you on a drive following the centuries old routes used by the elephants to migrate between waterholes.

Sprawling lawns dotted with palm trees and original old-style mission buildings roll into the wild bush and a view of Otavi Mountains in the distance. The major attraction at Ghaub is the white rhinos which can be experienced at very close range on a Rhino drive or a Rhino tracking tour on foot. Adventurous guests can join a guided excursion of the Ghaub cave. With its passages leading down to a depth of 38 m below the surface and in total being 2.5 km long, it is Namibia’s third-largest cave. Well-marked nature trails also invite guests to explore on their own the mountainous landscape with lush vegetation and more than 250 species of birds.
