Fly from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Skukuza Airport in Kruger National Park. Upon arrival, you will proceed on a 2-hour road transfer through the reserve to Umkumbe Bush Lodge.

Umkumbe Bush Lodge is located within the Sabie Sands Private Game Reserve, considered by many to be the premier wildlife reserve in South Africa. It is unfenced from the Western boundary of the Kruger National Park. Overlooking a waterhole, Umkumbe Bush Lodge is perfectly situated in one of the best Big Five game-viewing destinations in Africa. Umkumbe is beautifully designed and offers 10 tented-style suites, 4 of which are standard, 1 luxury and 5 superior. Each tented suite has a private deck or verandah and is fully equipped for a comfortable retreat. The stylish and spacious tented suites are all positioned on private raised decks nestled in nature. Umkumbe Bush Lodge, Sabi Sands Reserve, South Africa

Wake each morning at sunrise to the murmur of the animals before heading off with your professionally trained and highly experienced safari ranger and tracker. This safari expedition lasts for approximately 2.5 hours during which time you will be versed in all the lifecycles of the flora, fauna (including the Big Five) and surrounding ecosystems. There is a plethora of both large and small game, as well as over 300 species of birdlife, to be viewed and enjoyed at close quarters. This is an unparalleled safari experience and one of the best in Africa.

Return to the camp for breakfast before relaxing on the verandahs or by the pool, soaking in the sights and smells of the African bush. Lunch is served at 1 pm, followed by a nap or a good book before the late afternoon/early evening game drive. Enjoy a magical sundowner in the bush before returning to the camp to dine in the boma, seated under the stars. This creates a memory of a lifetime.

Fly from Skukuza Airport, Kruger National Park to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg

After your final early-morning game drive safari, a hearty breakfast and some warm goodbyes, pack your bags in preparation for the 2-hour transfer back to Skukuza Airport in the Kruger National Park. Proceed to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for your outbound flight. Should you prefer to fly directly to Cape Town, this can be arranged by Greatest Africa, as well as further lodge or hotel accommodation in Cape Town, the Cape Winelands and further afield.
