Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Depart early from Mombasa and proceed on the approximately 3-hour drive to Tsavo West. After reaching the park, you will check into your lodge, have lunch and rest. Later, go for an afternoon game drive at Tsavo East National Park to search for lion, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, antelope, warthog, ostrich, baboon, and birds. See herds of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling or simply foraging at the beautiful man-made Aruba Dam. It is on the north bank of the seasonal Voi River, visited by thousands of animals, and is a great game-viewing destination. Mudanda Rock - whale-backed rock towers above a natural dam - draw thousands of elephants. Meals and accommodation are at Sentrim Tsavo Lodge.

Day 2

Tsavo East to Mombasa

Tsavo East to Mombasa

We’re up early with the rising sun and the first stirring of the animals! This is the best way to view the awakening savannah and wildlife as it emerges into the new day. Be ready for the adventure of the “hunt”. After this first game drive, we’ll be hunting for a hearty safari breakfast at our accommodation. Later, we’ll check out from our lodge, but the animal spotting isn’t over. We’ll go for a final game drive as we depart the park. We may see the Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock, two well-known waterholes where thousands of animals come to drink. On our journey back to the coast, we’ll stop for lunch at an open-air, rustic restaurant with dramatic vistas of the Tsavo East plains.
