5-Day Tented Safari with Greater Kruger Experience

Arrival and first game drive

Your shared shuttle departs from O.R. Tambo International Airport at 07:45. You will make your way to the safari capital of Hoedspruit (arrival time at 13:30). You'll meet your professional safari guide who will take you to Tshukudu Private Game Reserve where you'll enjoy your first afternoon game drive on an open safari vehicle with a Tshukudu ranger. In the evening, your Khalanga guide will prepare a cooked dinner and you will spend the night in a comfortable bungalow.

Bush walk and safari to tented camp in Kruger

Before breakfast, a Tshukhudu ranger takes you on a bush walk which is a unique opportunity to see animal signs and tracks while embracing the African bush with all your senses. Back at the camp, you will have a prepared breakfast from your guide before you depart for Kruger National Park.

Our safari takes us to one of the Kruger National Park's rest camps, which is a resort-style village with a shop, a restaurant and a communal pool. Your 6 x 3m-size tent features hotel-grade beds, a private veranda and a private bathroom with a toilet. Our staff will take care of all the camp chores.

After another afternoon game drive, you will return to the camp to be greeted by a delicious dinner prepared by your chef. Enjoy the hours of nightfall in the company of your professional nature guide and host, who can share marvelous stories of the African bush with you.

Safari day in Kruger

You awake at sunrise to get ready for your morning safari. You will be on one of the first vehicles leaving the camp as gates open in the morning, with the privilege of exploring the gravel and tar roads before anyone else. Later, our chef will prepare a hot breakfast for you. We then continue our drive until the sun is already high and it’s time for a lunch break. Take a siesta in your tent or a dip in the pool back at camp.

In the afternoon, we will continue with our safari and spend some time on the roads surrounding the camp in search of more animal sightings. Upon return to the camp, enjoy some sundowner drinks and relax while your chef prepares dinner.

Safari day

Another day in the Kruger awaits. Take in the animal sightings from an open safari vehicle and explore the area north or south of the park, as per conditions of the day and our guide's expert opinion of where animal sightings are most likely. Later, enjoy an iced coffee at the camp restaurant while you sort through your photos and make use of the free Wi-Fi (if needed). Otherwise, just stay disconnected for a while to enjoy your time in nature to the fullest.

Morning safari and return to airport

Today, it's time to say goodbye to the Kruger National Park. After breakfast at the camp, you check out and enjoy your last morning safari before returning to the shuttle departure location for your return to the airport in Johannesburg. You will arrive at the O.R. Tambo Airport at around 18:00, and this is where your safari ends. Extra days can be added to this itinerary.
