Arrive at Sabi Sand, check in to Idube Game Lodge

On arrival at Skukuza or Kruger Mpumalanga Airports, you will transfer to Idube Game Lodge in the heart of the iconic Sabi Sand Game Reserve for 3 nights. Idube had a facelift in the first half of 2025, and while retaining its charm, has elevated the experience in and around the lodge. Enjoy a classic safari experience with outstanding guides on twice daily game drives. Idube is an oasis in the wilderness with established trees and verdant lawns and you can enjoy the lush gardens, pool, bar and deck area between drives.

The lovely safari chalets are all ensuite with outdoor shower, individually decorated and the decks allow you to watch passing animals like warthogs and nyala.

Traversing 10 000 hectares of pristine wildlife area, Idube Game Reserve is home to the Big Five and many other fascinating animals, large and small. Leopard sightings are regular as are other big cats, large herds of elephant and buffalo and so much more.

Safari in Thornybush at Shumbalala Game Lodge

After a game drive and brunch, you will transfer by road to the Thornybush Game Reserve and the elegant & classic Shumbalala Game Lodge for a 3-night stay. This exclusive and luxurious lodge is situated on the banks of a seasonal river. The luxurious main areas boast a pool, numerous sitting and dining areas both inside and out, a bar & a wine cellar.

The spacious private suites each comprise a bedroom and lounge, en-suite bathroom, large glass sliding doors and private viewing decks, complete with a private plunge pool and views over the ever-active water hole. Each room boasts a fireplace for those cooler winter nights. Natural colours, wooden decks and thatched roofs compliment the bushveld surroundings.

Twice daily game drives with excellent guide and tracker teams take you all over the vast Thornybush reserve. Game viewing is outstanding here and you can expect to see a myriad of animals.
