Nairobi to Mara North Conservancy
Your guide will pick you up after breakfast at your hotel, and you will be driven in comfort in a 4x4, pop-up vehicle from Nairobi to the lovely Mara Conservancy. The drive will take you through the amazing scenery of the Great Rift Valley with stunning panoramic views, and the diversity of various Kenyan towns and villages. You will pass through the city of Narok, in Narok County, a center of Maasai culture. The terrain becomes increasingly rural, evolving into the savannah, leading to the Mara. You will arrive at the Mara North Conservancy in time for lunch, viewing wildlife along our route to Karen Blixen Camp. After lunch and a short rest, get ready to enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 2
Twilight Comes Alive
Twilight Comes Alive
After morning tea or coffee, you'll leave the camp at daybreak to enjoy a beautiful sunrise and watch the animals stirring in the morning light. After a couple of hours, you will have breakfast in the bush. A highlight will be a visit to the hyena center, where you will learn about the different hyenas, their complex social structure, and the critical role they play as both scavengers and skilled hunters. After lunch and a rest, an afternoon game drive will bring more stories to tell. Plans for the nocturnal game drive are being made. In the darkness, the sounds of the animals are enhanced, as is the anticipation of spotting wildlife. The cats and hyenas also hunt at night. If you are lucky, you will see the elusive striped hyena, which only comes out at night. Aardwolves, aardvarks, caracals, and owls are also nocturnal creatures that might appear in the darkness.

Or you could choose, for extra cost, to enjoy a balloon safari in the early morning, travelling above the Mara to see the beautiful landscape, the herds of animals, and finally landing in the Mara for a spectacular champagne brunch.
Another exciting option is a horseback ride to view wildlife up close from the unique perspective of horseback. This can be arranged by your guide and provides for another fascinating and memorable experience. The animals allow the horses to get quite close.

The drive itself is an interesting change of terrain from the savannah to lush farmlands and small towns to the bustling city of Nakuru and the beautiful lake. Conservation Canvas & Night Whispers in Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast and a brief game drive, your journey will take you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The drive is scenic, traversing the Great Rift Valley, transforming into hills and plains. There is plenty of opportunity to view various towns and see their differences. The terrain becomes more rugged as you approach Ol Pejeta. Ol Pejeta was transformed in the 1980s from a cattle ranch to a wildlife conservancy, famous as a rhino sanctuary. In 1993, a chimpanzee sanctuary was established, as well, which you can visit. It hosts the last northern white rhinos. The diversity of wildlife continues with reticulated giraffes and Grevy zebras, as well as all the favorites.
After lunch and rest, you will have your afternoon game drive, and prepare for your nocturnal game drive, where you will hope to see more nocturnal creatures and big cats hunting. Night time is when you will see hippos grazing out of the water, and the scenery comes alive with new sounds, new and familiar creatures, and hunts.

Bush & Beyond
Bush & Beyond
Ol Pejeta has an interesting and extensive anti-poaching squad. There are numerous activities. You can choose to interact with the anti-poaching dogs and their handlers, including hiding bullets for the dogs to find and hiding yourself to be tracked!
Another fun activity is a horseback ride with the rhinos. You'll spend time with experienced horses and guides viewing the rhinos and other wildlife from horseback.
A trip to the SweetWaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, associated with Jane Goodall, is a fascinating visit. Find out why the sanctuary is in Kenya, where chimpanzees are not indigenous. Each chimp has a name and a story.
And of course, the daily game drives, where no two drives are the same! If you are lucky, you might see wild dogs, which have become rare after a virus decimated the population years ago.
You may choose to go on another night game drive for one last chance!
