After enjoying the beauty of the falls, you will begin a scenic transfer to Kibale National Park, home to lush tropical forests and famous chimpanzee trekking experiences. The journey is long but incredibly rewarding, taking you through traditional villages, rolling hills, vibrant green countryside, and endless tea plantations that define western Uganda’s landscape. Today, enjoy an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest National Park, renowned as the primate capital of the world. The park is home to the highest diversity of primates in Africa, including wild chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, & more. Your adventure begins early in the morning with a briefing by experienced park rangers at 8:00 am about chimpanzee tracking rules and safety guidelines. You will then venture deep into the rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee families. As you walk through the lush forest, listen to the exciting calls of chimps echoing through the trees. Once located, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, groom, and interact. After lunch at the lodge, continue for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk, a rich eco-tourism site famous for bird watching and primate viewing. Look out for the Great Blue Turaco and several monkey species in this scenic wetland paradise.

After an early breakfast, you will depart Kibale Forest and continue to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular safari destinations known for its incredible wildlife diversity and scenic landscapes. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, also called the “Mountains of the Moon,” as well as the stunning Ndali-Kasenda crater lakes surrounded by rolling hills and lush countryside. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and relaxation before heading out for an exciting afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Keep your camera ready for opportunities to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, and numerous antelope species roaming freely across the savannah. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers with hundreds of colorful bird species. Look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas, & more roaming freely in their natural habitat. The area is also a birdwatcher’s paradise with numerous bird species commonly seen during the drive. Your safari continues toward the scenic Lake George area, where beautiful landscapes and wildlife sightings create perfect photography. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch before heading out for an afternoon boat safari on the famous Kazinga Channel. The boat cruise offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and variety of water birds along the shores, making it one of the highlights of any Uganda safari experience.

After breakfast, you will journey to the world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Your drive to the Rushaga sector takes approximately 4–5 hours and is filled with breathtaking scenery, rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and beautiful countryside views often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.” Along the way, you will stop in Kabale for lunch and enjoy a visit to the vibrant local market where you can interact with locals, explore fresh produce, handmade crafts, and experience authentic Ugandan culture. Continue through the scenic highlands to Bwindi Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for gorilla trekking, rich biodiversity, and tropical rainforest landscapes. Upon arrival at your lodge near the Rushaga gate, you will check in and relax while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and stunning forest surroundings as you prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure the following day.

After an early breakfast, you will head to the ranger station for a detailed briefing by experienced park guides about gorilla trekking rules, safety, and conservation efforts. You will then begin your trek through the dense tropical rainforest, navigating steep trails, valleys, and thick vegetation in search of a habituated gorilla family. The duration of the trek varies depending on the movement of the gorillas, making the experience even more adventurous and exciting. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one hour observing these gentle endangered giants in their natural habitat as they feed, groom, play, and interact. This once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter is among Africa’s most extraordinary safari experiences. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, you may choose an optional cultural experience such as the Batwa community visit or a local coffee tour at an extra cost, or simply relax at the lodge while enjoying the peaceful forest atmosphere.

This is a great opportunity to spot zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, topis, and giraffes, as well as abundant birdlife in the golden light of sunset.
