3-Day Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkey in Volcanoes NP

Welcome to Rwanda & transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet with our safari guide for a briefing before starting your long waited gorilla safari.

You will start by visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn more about the dark story of the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994. After you will then settle for lunch before embarking on the road to Musanze for 2 to 3 hours, the home city for the Volcanoes National Park and the mountain gorillas for dinner and overnight stay.

Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up early and transfer to the park headquarters in time for the briefing. The park rangers allocate the different groups. You will depart on the most amazing trek in search of mountain gorillas. You can hike for several hours depending on the gorillas' location. In order to ensure the long-term viability of the gorilla population, once spotted, you will be limited to one hour of observation. You will get the opportunity to see young apes playing with one another, mothers nursing and silverbacks overseeing their pod.
After the trekking, you will visit ibyiwacu cultural village to experience the stories of former gorilla poachers who turned in their guardians and share Rwandan traditional cultural experiences, including weeding and intore dances.

You will have a late lunch at your hotel and an evening relaxation.

Golden monkey trekking & return to Kigali

After your early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Volcanoes National Park for Golden Monkey trekking. You will begin with a briefing from the park guide rangers before starting your trekking of the day. After encountering the Golden monkeys, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour observing and taking pictures of them while enjoying the fresh air of the volcanoes. After your trek, you will head back to your lodge for lunch before departing to Kigali for flight departure.
