Day 1

Maun to OKavango Delta

Maun to OKavango Delta

On arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met by your guide, followed by a road transfer to the southern tip of the Okavango Delta, a vast inland river delta in northern Botswana. It's known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, becoming a lush animal habitat. On your arrival at the mokoro (dug-out canoe) station, you will be met by experienced mokoro polers. For the next 2 days, you will be exploring a part of the permanent Delta on mokoros and nature walks.

Your guide will share their passion for the area with you showing you all the unique features and intricate workings of this part of the Okavango Delta.

On your way, expect to be rewarded with sightings of a variety of wildlife, as well as birdlife among the more than 400 species that occur in this watery wonderland.

Morning activities will be followed by brunch and a siesta before the afternoon activity commences. Meals are always served under the African sky and the guides tell stories well into the night.

Day 2

Okavango Delta

Okavango Delta

You will wake up early for coffee/tea, cereals, and rusks. After breakfast, you will set off with your guide for your morning mokoro excursion which will be followed by a bush walk. Traveling in a mokoro gives you a view of the river and a feeling that they are floating ever so gently down the river whilst bush walks are led by local guides who are part of the community that lives on the fringes of the Delta. As you explore the Okavango, you will once again be searching for game.

Wildlife in this area includes elephants, buffalos, hippos, lechwe, giraffes, crocodiles, kudus, zebras, waterbucks, reedbucks, impalas, warthogs, lions, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, to name a few. Iconic Delta bird species include African fish eagle, bateleur, southern carmine bee-eater, yellow-billed hornbill, lilac-breasted roller, and lesser jacana.

After an adventurous day, you'll return to the camp, have dinner under the stars, and later relax around a blazing campfire.
