After breakfast, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Uganda’s largest national park is one of its very best; animals are in plentiful supply, and the raging Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile crashes through the rock and descends dramatically towards Lake Albert, is an unforgettable sight. Despite a decimation of animal numbers during the war years, numbers have recovered well, and you can expect to see elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lions, Ugandan kobs (antelope), waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles, not to mention some 460 species of birds.

Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, visit the top of the falls, and then continue to your accommodation facility for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise

On this day, wake up early and have breakfast at 6:00 am. Afterward, your driver and the ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 6:30 am. During the drive, you will have the opportunity to see many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and various bird species, among others. After the game drive, which ends around 11:40 am, return to the lodge to relax, freshen up, and have lunch in preparation for the afternoon boat cruise.

During the boat cruise, you will have the chance to observe various Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants along the banks of the Nile, as well as different beautiful birds, some singing in the trees, such as the Bee-eaters, the colored kingfishers, the shoe-bill stork, and many others. The boat ride will take you to the base/bottom of the Murchison Falls, where you will witness the mighty waterfalls.

After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Covering an expanse of 795 square kilometers, Kibale National Park boasts a lush tropical rainforest and is renowned for having one of the highest primate densities in Africa. You will break for lunch in Fort Portal town and then proceed to partake in a swamp walk at the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary.

Situated 6 kilometers to the south of the Kibale National Park visitor center in Kanyanchu (no park permit is required for this activity), Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary was established by a local development organization to safeguard the 4-square-kilometer Magombe Swamp. This swamp is home to approximately 200 bird species, with notable highlights including the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and great blue turaco. Moreover, the sanctuary offers excellent opportunities for spotting butterflies and primates, featuring eight different primate species, including the grey-cheeked mangabey.

After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This renowned national park is a staple on most itineraries, and while you may encounter other safari groups, you are guaranteed to witness a diverse range of wildlife. This may include giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and elephants. Additionally, many visitors come specifically to marvel at the park's impressive birdlife, with a total of 611 bird species to be spotted here.

Later in the day, you will enjoy an evening boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a wide, 32-kilometer (20-mile) long natural channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This channel is a prominent feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park, situated in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. It is a habitat for schools of hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along its banks, providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

After an early morning breakfast meal, you will embark a morning game drive to observe animals that inhabit this park, including lions, leopards, and other game. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a haven for bird-watchers, boasting a remarkable list of over 500 bird species. Some notable avian residents include the black bee-eater, 11 distinct species of kingfishers, and several falcons, eagles, and other raptors. Queen Elizabeth National Park stands as one of Uganda's most exceptional natural treasures.

Following the game drive, which can last from 2½ to 5 hours, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You'll start your day with a delicious breakfast to fuel your energy. Be sure to grab your packed lunch, and then make your way to the park headquarters. Here, you'll receive a briefing, be allocated to your Gorilla group, and then venture into the forest for your Gorilla trekking experience. The duration of the trek in Bwindi typically ranges from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the movement and location of the Gorillas.

Once you locate the Gorillas, you'll have the incredible opportunity to spend up to 1 hour observing them and capturing photographs of these magnificent creatures.
