Day 2

After breakfast, you will travel to Murchison Falls National Park. It is Uganda’s largest national park and one of the best. There are many animals to see, and the powerful Murchison Falls—where the Victoria Nile forces its way through the rocks and drops down to Lake Albert—is a sight you won’t forget.
Although animal numbers dropped during the war years, they have now grown again. You can expect to see elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lions, Ugandan kobs (a type of antelope), waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles. The park is also home to about 460 species of birds.
You will visit the top of the falls before heading to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

On this day, wake up early and have breakfast at 6:00 am. After breakfast, your driver and ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 6:30 am. During the drive, you will have the chance to see many animals, including lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, and different kinds of birds. The game drive will end around 11:40 am, after which you will return to the lodge to rest, freshen up, and have lunch before the afternoon boat cruise.
During the boat cruise, you will see Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the Nile’s banks. You will also spot many birds, some singing in the trees, such as bee-eaters, colorful kingfishers, the shoe-bill stork, and others. The boat will take you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, where you can see the powerful waterfall up close.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Covering 795 square kilometers, Kibale National Park is known for its thick tropical rainforest and one of the highest numbers of primates in Africa. You will stop for lunch in Fort Portal town, then continue to take a swamp walk at the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary.
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary is located 6 kilometers south of the Kibale National Park visitor center in Kanyanchu. No park permit is needed for this activity. The sanctuary was started by a local group to protect the 4-square-kilometer Magombe Swamp. This swamp is home to about 200 bird species, including the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and great blue turaco. The sanctuary is also a great place to see butterflies and eight types of primates, including the grey-cheeked mangabey.

After breakfast, you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This well-known park is a common stop on many tours. While you may see other safari groups, you are sure to see many kinds of wildlife. These include giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and elephants. Many visitors also come to see the park’s large number of birds, with 611 species found here.
Later in the day, you will take an evening boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This wide, 32-kilometer (20-mile) long natural channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. It is a key part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Along the channel’s banks, you can see groups of hippos, buffaloes, and elephants, making it a great place to watch wildlife.

After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive to see animals living in the park, including lions, leopards, and other wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park is also a great place for bird watchers, with over 500 bird species. Some of the birds you may see include the black bee-eater, 11 different kinds of kingfishers, and several falcons, eagles, and other birds of prey. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most special natural places.
After the game drive, which lasts between 2½ and 5 hours, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is a World Heritage Site and is famous for being home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. It is one of East Africa’s most well-known parks. Covering 331 square kilometers, Bwindi lies in steep mountain rainforests and is home to about 340 gorillas, making it Uganda’s top tourist attraction.

Day 7

You will start your day with a good breakfast to give you energy. Make sure to take your packed lunch with you, then head to the park headquarters. There, you will get a briefing, be assigned to your gorilla group, and then begin your trek into the forest. The trek in Bwindi usually takes between 2 and 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are and how they move.
When you find the gorillas, you will have up to one hour to watch them and take photos. After the trek, you will eat your packed lunch and receive your well-deserved gorilla trekking certificate. Then, you will meet your guide and travel back to your lodge, ending your special gorilla trekking experience.

After breakfast, your journey will take you to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi means "place of many little birds" and is one of Uganda's most beautiful lakes. This peaceful place, especially when the morning mist rises gently from the calm water, has become a favorite spot for travelers who want to relax while exploring Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi has several quiet and simple places to stay on its islands, where you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of birds. What makes Lake Bunyonyi different from many other lakes in East Africa is that it has no bilharzia, crocodiles, or hippos, making it a safe place to visit.
In the evening, you will take a calm boat ride at sunset. During this cruise, you will visit some of the lake’s 29 islands, including Akampane Island, which is known as the punishment island.

Day 9

After an early breakfast, your journey will take you to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the only place in southern Uganda where you can see zebra and giraffe, both of which have been successfully brought back. Lake Mburo is also the only park in the country where you can find impala, slender mongoose, and giant bush rat.
Other animals you might see include leopard, topi, and eland. The park is a great place for bird lovers, with about 325 species of birds, including the martial eagle, red-faced barbet, papyrus yellow warbler, and African finfoot.
You will go on a long game drive inside the park, giving you the chance to see the many animals that live in Lake Mburo National Park. After the game drive, you will go to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
