Amboseli to the Enchanting Shores of Lake Naivasha
Today we will start the day with an early morning journey after the breakfast to Lake Naivasha, the highest and most picturesque of the Rift Valley lakes. Nestled at 1910m (6200f), the lake features fresh water and is bordered by dense clusters of papyrus, once used by ancient Egyptians for paper. Kingfishers perch on the papyrus, while herons seek food within. Boasting over 400 recorded bird species, Naivasha is a birdwatching haven. A sought-after weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, it offers sailing, water skiing, and fishing. Despite the lake's cold altitude, no crocodiles reside, though hippos are present.
