Day 1

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a scenic 2.5–3 hour drive to Akagera National Park, arrive at the park headquarters for check-in and a briefing from park staff.
Thereafter, we proceed and check into the lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for a sunset game drive. During this exciting drive, we traverse open plains, woodlands, and lakeshores as you search for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. Keep an eye out for lions or leopards as dusk falls.

Day 2

Enjoy a full-day game drive through the northern section of the park, one of the best areas for wildlife viewing. With a packed lunch, you’ll explore the rolling savannah, acacia woodlands, and scenic hills.
Spot lions, elephants, rhinos, and hippos, along with plenty of plains game like impalas, topis, waterbucks, and bushbucks. The birdlife is remarkable too, with over 480 bird species, including fish eagles, crowned cranes, and the rare shoebill (seasonal).
After lunch, you will enjoy a boat trip on Lake Ihema for a close encounter with the crocodiles and hippos along the river banks. You'll also have the opportunity to spot some of the bird species, both migratory and savanna dwelling that are in the area

Day 3

You will enjoy breakfast, and then we depart for Kigali where you'll visit interesting spots which may include the craft market and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site. Thereafter, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside to Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga Mountains.
Arrive in Musanze in time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village or take a short nature walk for a taste of Rwandan heritage and local community life.

Day 4
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you'll transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch. You'll begin the morning with a briefing on the code of conduct while with the gorillas. Then, you will head out into the forest in search of the gorillas with your guide.
Finding the gorillas may take from two to six hours depending on the their movements in the jungle. You will meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour while enjoying the surrounding nature with the sounds of birds chirping everywhere in the forest.
After trekking we return to the lodge for relaxation
Optional activities: Explore the network of underground caves and tunnels formed by volcanic activity, offering historical and cultural insights or just Nature walk.

Day 5
Golden Monkey and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Golden Monkey and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a golden Monkey trekking briefing. You’ll then be guided into the dense forest to track one of the Golden Monkey families. The trek is relatively easy compared to gorilla trekking—usually taking 30 minutes to 1.5 hours—making it accessible even for less experienced hikers. Once you find them, you’ll spend up to one hour observing their energetic antics: jumping between trees, munching on bamboo shoots, and interacting playfully with one another.
After the trek and lunch, begin your journey south to Nyungwe Forest National Park, passing through hills, lakes, and tea plantations. The drive takes around 6–7 hours with scenic stops.

Day 6

Your day begins early with a briefing at the Uwinka or Gisakura visitor center, followed by a guided hike deep into the forest. Chimpanzee trekking can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on the chimps’ location and movement patterns.
Once located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour in their presence—observing them up close as they swing through the canopy, hoot loudly to communicate, or interact in their close-knit communities.
After lunch, We head out for Nyungwe National Park canopy walk.

Day 7
Transfer Back to Kigali
Transfer Back to Kigali
You will have an early morning breakfast and then transfer back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home or at your accommodations in Kigali.
