As we continue into the Serengeti, you will understand why the name translates to "endless plains" in Swahili. The park covers 6,900 square miles, and for most of the journey, the plains will extend to the horizon, defying your senses and perception of distance. The Serengeti is known for its abundant wildlife, especially big cats and large predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll head to the northern Serengeti and the Mara River to witness the Great Migration. Our safari guide will find the best spot for viewing.

The northern Serengeti offers a chance to escape the crowds, as it is wedged between the central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. This remote and relatively inaccessible region sees fewer visitors, allowing travelers to enjoy gorgeous landscapes of green rolling hills, granite outcrops, and acacia woodlands dotting open savanna. You'll witness incredible wildlife, including massive herds of wildebeest and zebra making the dangerous crossing of the crocodile-infested Mara River during the Great Migration. Meals and your overnight stay will be at a carefully selected accommodation.
