Day 1

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

You'll depart Arusha early in the morning and arrive in Serengeti National Park about midday. We will go on a game drive all day. The Serengeti National Park is famous for its boundless fields of grassland and woodland environments. The area spans around 30,000 km² in northern Tanzania and Kenya, with Tanzania accounting for 80%. The park is well-known for its yearly wildebeest migration, in which around 1.5 million herbivores and thousands of predators travel across the drought-stricken northern hills to the new grass of the southern plains. Following the rains in mid-April, they return via a detour across the western half. The grasslands encompass more than one-third of the park and are home to a variety of animals year-round.

We will wake up early in the morning, and after breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater has a diameter of about 20 kilometers and a 600-meter-high crater wall. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world and is home to an estimated 30 000 larger mammals. In the center of the crater is a salt lake. This is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world. It is a unique area where animals and humans, such as the authentic Masai, live together. You look at the impressive landscape and its wonderful inhabitants from the crater's edge. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Arusha, where we arrive before dinner.
