Boat Tour then Drive back to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast at 7:00 am, you will start the boat trip. Usually, the boat trip leaves camp at 7:30 am and returns at 9:00 am. It's an ideal trip and you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rufiji River with many hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful birdlife. The sunrise can also be stunning from the boat. There is nothing quite like the serenity of the river while the sun dips below the horizon. The Rufiji is a large wide river with several lakes branching off it for you to explore, gaining a unique view of the river's largest inhabitants: crocodiles and hippos.
Boat safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The Selous has over 350 bird species, and the river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open environment. You might also want to try your luck with the ferocious tigerfish, and weighty catfish that live in the waters in abundance.
Then, prepare for a safari back to Dar es Salaam at the hotel, airport, or ferry.
