You'll leave the hotel with packed lunches and drive towards Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's third-largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. Lunch boxes will be provided to you at the picnic point.

After breakfast, you will drive into the park for a full-day game drive. On this day, you will visit a very famous place called Silaley Swamp where animals like giraffes, elephants, wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, lions, buffaloes, and cheetahs can be seen in an open area. For the bird watchers, this park gives a chance to see different species of birds. More than 400 species of birds were discovered from small to big, terrestrial and aquatic.

Day 3

Drive to Serengeti National Park

Drive to Serengeti National Park

In the morning after breakfast, you'll drive to Serengeti National Park passing Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. Your driver will stop at some of the beautiful views overlooking the crater. On crossing the border, a picnic lunch will be provided by your driver guide followed by a game viewing en route. You'll drive further to Serengeti for a sunset game drive before going for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you'll depart for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. You'll have lunch at the picnic site. The Serengeti National Park derives its name from the Maasai language meaning endless plain. This massive plain (14763 sq km) is a natural habitat for many animals and bird life. In many cases, migrations take place around Serengeti and at that particular time millions of wildebeest and zebras are mingling together followed by predators. One of Africa's premier attractions, the Ngorongoro Crater is a world-renowned wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The game drive in this area features the 610m-deep crater which was formed 3 million years ago due to a large volcano that exploded and collapsed, creating a natural amphitheater. Here, it is home to over 30,000 animals, and you have a chance to witness the Big Five in their natural habitat.

Pink flamingos stoop and graze by the thousands of colorful specks against the grey minerals of the lake shore. Yellow-billed storks swoop and corkscrew on thermal winds rising from the escarpment, and herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Even reluctant birdwatchers will find something to watch and marvel at within the national park.
