After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our driver-guide. You will be assisted with your luggage and then transferred to your hotel in Kampala which is about a 45-minute drive from the airport. Once you arrive at your hotel, you can check in and rest briefly after your long journey. If you’re up to it, you can also explore the city and see some of its sights.

Some popular things to do in Kampala include visiting the Uganda Museum, strolling through the vibrant Nakasero Market, or seeing the Gaddafi National Mosque. You may also want to try local cuisine at one of the city’s many restaurants or cafes. Ugandan cuisine is known for its stews, grilled meats, and plantain dishes. There are many delicious options in Kampala. After the Kampala City tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation and head to Murchison Falls. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of Murchison and the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park. Here, you can view lion, giraffe, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephant. You will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles.

For birders, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species, including the elusive shoe-bill stork, dwarf kingfisher, white-thighed hornbill, and the goliath heron, among others. En route, stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your first Big 5 experience, where you will have an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi, where you can enjoy your lunch. Later, continue to the park and check in at your accommodation to relax for the evening.

Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Top of Falls

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a game drive through the park to see some of the diverse wildlife that inhabits the park. The game drive typically takes about 3 to 4 hours and is best done in the early morning when the animals are most active. Animals like elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas and various antelopes, including Uganda kobs, hartebeests, and waterbucks. The park is also home to over 450 bird species, making it a great destination for birdwatchers.

After the game drive, you can have lunch and rest before the afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise takes about 3 hours and is a great way to see the Nile River and its surrounding wildlife. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. The boat ride also takes you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the power of the falls up close. Finally, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park and depart for Kibale National Park, located in Western Uganda. The journey is a long one, spanning approximately 7 to 8 hours. The scenic drive is full of breathtaking views of the Ugandan countryside, and you’ll have opportunities to stop and stretch your legs along the way. You may want to pack some snacks and drinks for the journey, as well as some entertainment like books, music, or podcasts.

Upon arrival at Kibale National Park, you will check into your accommodation. You can then take some time to relax and enjoy the park's natural surroundings. Depending on the time of your arrival, you can participate in optional activities such as guided forest walks, birdwatching, or simply relaxing in the lodge. Otherwise, you can retire to your comfortable room for a good night’s sleep, preparing for the exciting chimpanzee tracking experience the next day.

Chimpanzee Tracking and Visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary - Kibale Forest National Park

On day 5 of your 11-day Uganda safari classic tour itinerary, you will go on a chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. This will be a guided walk through the forest in search of chimpanzees. The trek will start early in the morning, and you will be accompanied by an experienced guide who will lead you through the forest. He'll help you to spot primates and other animals along the way. Kibale National Park is known for having one of the highest densities of primates in Africa, so you will have a high chance of seeing chimpanzees. During the trek, you may also see other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.

After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Then, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation in Kibale Forest National Park and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is located in Western Uganda. The drive will take about 3 to 4 hours, and you will have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery and make a few stops along the way. When you arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into your accommodation and rest for a while before embarking on an evening game drive.

You will set out on a 4×4 safari vehicle with an experienced guide who will help you spot wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, and many species of antelopes. The game drive will last for about 3 hours. You will also have plenty of opportunities to take photos and ask your guide any questions you may have about wildlife and the park.

After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and a good night’s rest.

A driver-guide will pick you up from your lodge and take you to the park in a 4×4 vehicle. During the game drive, you will explore the vast savannah plains and look for the park’s wildlife. The park is home to various wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, and many species of birds.

One of the highlights of the game drive is the rare tree-climbing lions found in the park. These lions have adapted to climbing trees to escape from the heat and avoid insect bites. Your driver-guide will take you to the areas of the park where the lions are known to climb trees. You may have the opportunity to see them resting in the branches.

After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and rest. You will go on an afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. After the launch cruise, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. The drive will take around 4 to 6 hours, depending on your route and any stops you make along the way. Bwindi Forest National Park is home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. The park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique biodiversity and the protection of the endangered gorilla species.

When you arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will check into your accommodation and rest for the remainder of the day. This will give you time to prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the next day.

In the evening, you will have dinner at your lodge and have a briefing with your guide about the gorilla trekking experience. They will explain the guidelines and regulations to follow during the trek and answer any questions you may have.

On day 9 of your itinerary, you will wake up early to embark on a gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi National Park. This is one of the most thrilling and unforgettable experiences you can have in Uganda. You will be led by experienced guides who will take you deep into the forest to search for a family of gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas.

When you find the gorillas, you can spend up to an hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact with each other. This is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Your guide will provide detailed instructions to ensure your safety and the safety of the gorillas.

After the gorilla trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa community.

When you arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, you will check in to your accommodation. Then, you will have some free time to relax as you prepare for the night game drive.

Night game drives in Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda are ideal for exploring the phenomenal attractions there. On your night game drive, you will see various wildlife animals, such as zebras, impalas, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, hyenas, waterbucks, elands, oribis, hippos, crocodiles, reedbucks, and many others. Then, you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
