Central Serengeti NP

After breakfast, you will take a morning drive to the Northern Serengeti with a packed lunch. The Northern Serengeti offers a chance to escape the crowds. This region – wedged between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to the north – is remote and relatively inaccessible, which means it sees fewer visitors. Travelers who make it to this corner of the Serengeti will be rewarded with gorgeous landscapes of green rolling hills, granite outcrops, acacia woodlands dotting open savannahs, and incredible wildlife.

This sector of the park is also home to the greatest concentration of elephants in the Serengeti, as well as good numbers of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas and diverse resident animals such as giraffe, topi, eland, and hippo. After the game drive, we will return to Tanzania Bush Camps Central Serengeti for the last night in Serengeti NP.

The Hadzabe community is a group of hunter-gatherers related to the South Kalahari Bushmen. Due to a lack of food, their population has reduced to only about 1,500 people as of 2011. They survive by hunting small game with homemade bows and arrows, such as small birds, bush babies, and squirrels.

The Datoga community lives in Datoga village, which a man and his 8 wives own. The men build huts from wooden sticks while the women seal them with dung. A man's ability to offer cattle as a dowry determines the number of wives he can have.
