From Train to Safari in Mikumi National Park

Your adventure begins early in the morning with hotel pickup in Dar es Salaam and transfer to the SGR station. You will be escorted by our company representative to ensure smooth check-in and boarding of the modern electric train.

Enjoy a comfortable and scenic train journey through Tanzania’s countryside as you head towards the Mikumi safari region. Upon arrival, your professional safari guide will welcome you and transfer you to Mikumi National Park in a 4x4 open-sided safari vehicle.

Start your first exciting game drive across the open savannah, where you may spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, antelopes, crocodiles, leopards, along with many colorful bird species. The park’s wide landscapes make wildlife viewing easy and enjoyable.

In the evening, enjoy a relaxed drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Sunrise Game Drive & Train Return

Wake up to the sounds of the African wilderness and enjoy breakfast at your lodge or camp. After breakfast, check out and begin your final morning game drive in Mikumi National Park.

This is a great time to spot more wildlife as animals are active in the cooler morning hours. You may see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, antelopes, crocodiles, leopards, antelopes and a variety of colorful birds in the open savannah.

After the game drive, you will be transferred back to the train station for your electric SGR train journey back to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy a comfortable and relaxing ride through Tanzania’s countryside.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, our company representative will transfer you back to your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable 2-day safari adventure.
