Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to Gold Crest Hotel. Located in a rural setting, about a 15-minute drive from Arusha Airport and around 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro, this is the perfect venue from which to begin this fantastic Tanzania safari.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

After one night in Arusha, guests will be transferred from Arusha to Burunge Tented Camp, where they will be spending the next one night. Along the way, guests will enjoy a game drive in the Tarangire National Park, which takes part in the route to Burunge Tented Lodge. This passing glimpse of the park will later be followed up with a full day excursion, during which guests can fully appreciate the Tarangire.

Day 3

Departure to Serengeti National Park

Departure to Serengeti National Park

Today we make our way to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. En route we pass through an area which is home to the Maasai people. These tall, proud nomadic warriors are famous for their legendary prowess in battle and singlehanded acts of bravery in fights with wild animals. Time dependent, we may stop at the famous Oldupai Gorge, so named after the wild Sisal plant that grows in the gorge. As a result of massive geological activities over the eons, Oldupai provides a unique record of countless years of fossilized creatures and plants in a series of stratified rocklayers. After an introductory lecture we will continue our travels westward on the rutted dirt track across the vast, flat and seemingly endless Serengeti Plains, to spend three nights in one of the world’s most renowned game reserves.

Day 4-5

Northern Serengeti- Migration Crossing

Northern Serengeti- Migration Crossing

You will continue to explore the northern areas of the Serengeti, from the Mara River to the rolling hills of the northern plains we will focus on photographing the game that is unique to this area. If luck is on our side, we will also have a chance to capture a river crossing, as the wildebeest and zebra return to Tanzania from Kenya. We will be out most of these days for full days and will have a wonderful picnic lunches with us to further enjoy our surroundings. Returning in the late afternoons with plenty of time for charging batteries, image downloading, and image review in our dedicated camera tech tent, your days will be filled with excitement and photographic opportunities.

Day 6

Driving back to Central Serengeti

Driving back to Central Serengeti

After breakfast you will move to Central Sentral Serengeti again during this time, we will cover as much of the Central Serengeti as we can. Big herds and big cats that is what has made the Serengeti famous worldwide. Lion, leopard, and cheetah will be our focus while in this very productive area. Again, you can expect to be up early and returning to camp in the evening, or as conditions warrant. Our long days will be rewarded with incredible game viewing opportunities.

Day 7

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning game, we depart to Ngorongoro crater. Arriving at the edge of the Crater our eyes are welcomed by the breath-taking views of the intact volcanic caldera and home to the highest density of big game in Africa. The drive down the into the Crater is an adventure in itself and when you reach the Crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. Drive to Tloma Lodge for dinner and overnight.
