Today we will start our tour at 8:00 am. We will continue towards Etosha National Park.

Ongava Lodge in Namibia is in the famous Etosha National Park. Ongava Lodge is situated along the southern boundary of the park in the privately-owned 30 000 hectares Ongava Game Reserve. This prime positioning gives guests at Ongava Lodge easy access to the superb wilderness and the opportunity to view some of Namibia's most superb game species.

Ongava Lodge offers 14 luxury, spacious ensuite chalets made of rock and thatch while presenting perfect views on private decks. The main lodge consists of a lounge, dining room and bar, offering views over the waterhole, a swimming pool, the curio shop and a reception area. Meals are either served in the main dining area under thatch with a view over the camp's waterhole, or on the dining deck under the stars. In between exhilarating game walks and drives, guests will spend their last two nights on safari at Etosha's first luxury lodge.

We'll spend most of this day watching wildlife. A visit to a number of waterholes is high on the cards and we'll make a stop at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. The Pan is an extensive flat depression of about 5,000sq km. This great, white expanse is a place of shimmering mirages, and seeing large herds of game in this setting makes Etosha a unique experience in Africa.

As we depart from Ongava game reserve we will now travel through Etosha to the eastern part of Etosha visiting more waterholes as we drive.

The next lodge will be on the eastern part of the park, just outside the gates. We will stay another 2 nights at the Mokuti lodge or similar.

Get ready for another thrilling day exploring Etosha’s eastern region, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. This area is famous for its abundant and diverse animal populations, offering exceptional game viewing at every turn. Drive across open plains and visit sparkling waterholes where large herds of springbok, zebra, impala, giraffe, and gemsbok gather, while a dazzling array of birds and smaller creatures add to the spectacle.

After a morning game drive and the opportunity to take more pictures of Etosha's wildlife in the soft morning light, we leave the park through the eastern gate and continue to Rundu in the southwestern corner of the Kavango region.

This part of the country is mostly inhabited by the Okavango people. On our way we will stop at the Ju/'Hoansi-San community to learn about the san people and their culture as the nomadic people of Namibia.

After we will then continue towards the Kavango region where we will sleep one night on the backs of the Okavango River.
Hakusembe River Lodge is situated on the Okavango River, near Rundu. All chalets look out over the picturesque river and facilities include a floating deck, swimming pool, restaurant and bar.

After driving eastwards along the Okavango River, we enter the beautiful Mahango Game Reserve. The reserve is situated in the northeastern Kavango Region, bordering on the western Caprivi and Botswana. It is characterized by riverine forests, a broad flood plain, magnificent baobabs and large herds of elephant and red lechwe.

The reserve is one of Namibia's most diverse and interesting conservation areas, harboring rare game species such as buffalo, sable and roan antelope, Chobe bushbuck, reedbuck, tsessebe and sitatunga.

Our accommodation will be the luxury Divava Okavango Resort & Spa. Perched on the Okavango River, you may spot hippos and crocodiles from your chalet which boasts a large deck, spacious bathroom and an indoor and outdoor shower.
We will go on a game drive in the afternoon to spot the exciting wildlife this area has to offer.

Today's destination is the unbelievable Okavango Delta. We will cross the border into Botswana and continue southwards through small villages and towns, steering clear of goats and cattle on the road.

We will arrive at our accommodation in the early afternoon after having changed to 4-wheel drive during the last part of our journey in order to make it through the sand. It is then time to sit down with a drink on the deck overlooking the Weboro Lagoon and keep a lookout for crocodiles, hippos and birds. Later in the afternoon there will be a bush guided walk.

Today the magical Okavango Delta awaits. We will travel by speed boat through the channels to one of the islands and then continue with local mokoro boats. Each mokoro will have its own poler.

We will move close to the islands in search of animals. Wildlife here includes elephants, lions, buffalo, aquatic antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, leopards and birds. At some point we will stop for a guided walk on one of the islands. We will return to our lodge just after lunch.

Day 9

Today we will leave Botswana and return to Namibia. We will drive northwards back to the Mahango Game Reserve, where we will enjoy another short game drive, trying to spot some of the animals that we might have missed during our last visit.

As we travel through the Caprivi, we may stop to familiarize ourselves with the local culture and perhaps purchase some genuine Namibian handicrafts. Our lodge is situated on the banks of Kwando River.

The captivating Kwando River Lodge offers views of the Kwando River through a thick canopy of Jackalberry and Mangosteen trees.

We drive through Caprivi's capital, Katima Mulilo, then continue to our lodge Chobe water villas, which is beautifully located on the Chobe River. In the early afternoon we will take a boat cruise on the Chobe River.

Chobe is famous for large numbers of buffalos and elephants which we hope to see from the boat, as well as hippos and crocodiles. We might also catch sight of lions at the water's edge and the bird life here is rich. This boat cruise will last the whole afternoon until sunset.

The Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers more than 10,000sq km, has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife, and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience of a lifetime. It is particularly well known for the large amounts of elephants, which are said to be the largest in body size of all living elephants.

Morning to late morning hours is dedicated to game driving in and around the park before lunch. Like the boat tour yesterday, it may turn out to be one of the very highlights of our entire safari. The afternoon and evening may be used to relax at the pool site or, for those who so wish, another boat tour or game drive. We will be staying on the Namibian side.

After breakfast, you will be transferred across the border into Zimbabwe, which will be the third and last country that you will visit on this safari. You will enter Botswana and drive through to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. It is a short drive of about 170km, but you should continue to keep an eye open for wildlife along the way.

After arriving in Victoria Falls, you will continue straight to your lodge, which is situated close to the falls. These beautiful and majestic falls are also known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya”: The Smoke that Thunders. It is not difficult to see why Victoria Falls is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. After lunch and settling into your lodge, you will have the afternoon open for any activities that are not already included with this safari.

There will be a farewell dinner at one of the local restaurants in Victoria Falls.
