On arrival at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, a Land & lake representative will meet you in the arrivals hall and transfer you to Mitengo House to rest and overnight. Night here including breakfast. Dinner can be booked and paid for with Mitengo house as well as any drinks.

This morning after your breakfast at Mitengo, a Land & Lake representative will collect you from Mitengo and bring you to our offices in area 3. Here you will receive a full vehicle handover.
After the handover (Aprox 1 hour) You're free to hit the road!
Drive northwards onto the open road and up to Viphya Plateau. Night at Luwawa Forest Lodge overlooking a dam and the forest beyond. There is horse riding, fishing, walking and hiking available and all activities can be organized with Luwawa and paid for during your stay. Night here including dinner, bed and breakfast.

Viphya plateau is a stunning forest landscape and Luwawa Forest Lodge hosts a myriad of activities to explore the region. Horse riding at the nearby stables can be booked and paid for during your stay. Hiking and walking guides are available at the lodge and activities such as archery, cycling and birding can be arranged to keep you busy. Or relax in the gardens and by the dam and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. Night here including dinner, bed and breakfast. Lunch, activities, drinks and additional personal expenditure can be paid at the end of your stay.

Depart Viphya Plateau after breakfast, ensuring you have plenty of time to head up to Nyika. It's a longer drive today with some 4 wheel driving up the park. Arrive mid afternoon and relax amongst the open plains of Nyika Plateau. Night at Chelinda Lodge in your private cabin including all your meals and activities. Activities can be organized with Chelinda during your stay including cycling, walking, game drives and fishing.

Depart after breakfast from Nyika Plateau and make your way slowly back down to the gate and through the bustling city of Mzuzu to the calm lakeshore waters. Night at Makuzi Beach Lodge on room only basis. Today you have the opportunity to buy some things you might need in Mzuzu for your onward journey.

Depart Makuzi at your leisure - It's a short drive down the lakeshore to Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. Arrive in the afternoon and settled into your ensuite tented chalet. Rafiki is set just outside the game reserve with beautiful walking trails along the Bua River. Any activities and additional meals can be booked and paid for during your stay.

The day is yours to explore the area as you'd like. Enjoy a game walk or game drive inside the National Park, enjoy a walk along the Bua River by the lodge or take your vehicle off to the lakeshore (Just 20 minutes away) for another day on the beach. Night at Rafiki Safari Camp including Dinner, bed and breakfast. Additional activities can be booked and paid for during your stay, as well as any additional meals or drinks.

Back to Lilongwe
Back to Lilongwe
Head out of Nkhotakota and take a slow drive back to Lilongwe. Stops en-route include Kuti Wildlife Reserve that has horse riding! Arrive back in Lilongwe in time to off-hire your vehicle and settle into your accommodation for the night. Night at Mitengo House on bed and breakfast basis.

Departure
After breakfast, a representative from land & Lake will meet you at Mitengo House and transfer you to the airport in time for your international departure. Arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure. Say goodbye to Malawi and end of travel services.
