Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Your Myway Trip safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. You will then drive to Tarangire, which is approximately two and a half hours away on good tarmac roads. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it, known as the 'river of warthogs', as it serves as the sole water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant families often seen gathering by the river, as well as sightings of giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by various predators, including lions and leopards. The park boasts more breeding species of birds than any other place on the planet. Additionally, visitors can marvel at the enormous and ancient Baobab trees, some of which are believed to have existed for over a thousand years.
Lunch will be provided at a picnic site within the park. Following your game drive, you will then proceed to your accommodation in Karatu.

Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive up to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon your first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater, it appears like a forgotten world. Concealed within the steep volcanic walls lies a pristine wilderness, comprising sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The Crater formed when a large volcano erupted and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago, covering an area of 260 km². Renowned for its geological marvels, the Crater is also famed as a natural reserve housing some of the densest populations of large mammals on the entire African continent. As you descend into the Crater, you swiftly encounter vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 bird species. It offers the best opportunity to catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino. Subsequently, you will journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to reach the Serengeti, entering from the south of the park.

Serengeti National Park - Karatu
The Serengeti presents a truly spectacular sight. Renowned for its expansive open grasslands, it offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely untouched for millions of years. While it hosts a diverse array of wildlife, its most famed feature is the annual Great Migration. Each year, vast herds of wildebeest, accompanied by sizable numbers of zebra and antelope, follow a cyclical route in search of fresh grazing. The migration can be observed at various times throughout the year, provided one knows where to look. The real inquiry should revolve around the optimal locations to witness these animals during specific seasons. Alongside its iconic landscapes, encountering predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards is highly probable. It truly offers a life-changing experience.
In the afternoon, you will commence your journey back to Karatu, with hopes of further marvels along the way!

Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboon and elephant in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.
Picnic lunch in the park. After your game drive, you will say farewell to your Guide and will be dropped off at a place of your choosing e.g. Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. We hope you have enjoyed your adventure with Myway Trips.
