Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Entebbe to the lush, forested landscapes of western Uganda. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the countryside, tea plantations, and rural villages that offer a glimpse into everyday Ugandan life.

You'll have a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal, a charming town nestled in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Kibale National Park, home to the highest diversity of primates in Africa, including the famous chimpanzees. Check in at your lodge, unwind, as you prepare for the thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience awaiting you the next day.

Day 2

Chimp Trekking in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale National Park for a briefing from experienced park rangers. Then, set off into the dense rainforest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. As you walk through the towering trees and tangled vines, listen for the rustling of leaves, the distant calls, and the echoing hoots of chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

Kibale is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and the chances of encountering them are high. Once you find a group, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing their playful interactions, grooming rituals, and the strong social bonds that mirror our own.

The forest is also alive with other primates, butterflies, and rare bird species, making this trek a true immersion in nature. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, you will take a guided nature walk in the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

After a leisurely breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin your return journey to Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside passing by tea estates, crater lakes, and rolling hills that showcase the natural beauty of the Pearl of Africa.

There will be a stop for lunch en route and time to reflect on the unforgettable moments shared in Kibale, especially the incredible encounter with wild chimpanzees. You'll arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of a memorable adventure.
