Soon after, you’ll step into your private safari vehicle, where your guide greets you and the cityscape begins to fade. As we venture northeast toward Meru National Park, watch Kenya’s landscapes shift from bustling suburbs to lush hillsides, open farmlands, and acacia-dotted plains—a beautiful introduction to the country’s remarkable diversity.

By mid-afternoon, you’ll arrive at the wild and wondrous Meru National Park, a place etched into history by the iconic story of Elsa the Lioness and the film Born Free. Check-in to your lodge and enjoy lunch and a rest.

Over the next two days, enjoy three exhilarating game drives through Meru’s dramatic terrain—searching for lions, elephants, and the elusive leopard. One of your highlights will be a special visit to the Elsa Memorial, a touching tribute to the lioness who inspired a generation of wildlife lovers.

After breakfast in Meru, set off on a scenic drive north to the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve. Watch the landscape shift as you pass remote villages and semi-arid plains on the way to your lodge near the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Arrive in time for a relaxing lunch, then head out for your first game drive in this remote, wildlife-rich region. Samburu is home to the rare “Samburu Special Five”—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Return to camp for dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.

The next day begins with an early morning game drive, when predators are most active and the golden light paints the bush. Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some time at leisure—perhaps by the pool or watching wildlife from your terrace. In the afternoon, venture out again to explore more of the park’s dramatic terrain and unique wildlife. After breakfast in Samburu, begin your journey south to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a groundbreaking wildlife sanctuary on the Laikipia Plateau. Upon arrival, visit the renowned rhino sanctuary—home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth. You’ll also meet Baraka, a blind black rhino and beloved ambassador for his species. These encounters offer a rare and moving glimpse into vital conservation work. Afterward, head to your lodge for lunch and some time to rest and recharge.

In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can observe rescued chimps up close.
