Journey from Mombasa Island to Tsavo East National Park

Depart from your hotel in Mombasa and travel toward Tsavo East National Park, passing through scenic landscapes on your way to one of Kenya’s largest and most iconic parks.

Upon arrival at Tsavo East, proceed directly to Voi Safari Lodge for check-in. After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge.

In the afternoon, embark on your first exciting game drive through the park. Explore key attractions such as the Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi River, and the iconic Aruba Dam. Tsavo East is particularly renowned for its striking red elephants, along with other wildlife including rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, and a rich variety of bird species.

Your game drive continues until sunset, offering excellent opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitats.

Return to the lodge in the evening for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay.

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, in a restaurant setting overlooking the sprawling savanna of Tsavo East. With a watering hole within view, you will likely witness some wild action as the resident wildlife jostle for an early morning thirst-quencher. As you drive through diverse landscapes, enjoy a full-day game drive, returning to the lodge for a hot lunch.

In the afternoon, continue exploring the park's wildlife and breathtaking views. You'll have ample opportunities to spot animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, and more throughout the day.

In the late afternoon, return to the lodge, freshen up, take some time to relax and unwind, then enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Return to Mombasa to Explore the Island's Treasures

Depart from Tsavo East in the morning and embark on a scenic drive to Mombasa. The journey typically takes around 3 to 4 hours, offering views of the diverse landscapes of Kenya along the way.

Upon arrival at Haller Park, take a guided tour to explore the rehabilitated landscapes. Discover the park's rich biodiversity, including a variety of plant species and an array of animals such as giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles. Learn about the park's history and its transformation from a limestone quarry to a thriving ecological haven. You will also go on a guided tour of the island's ancient Old Town and Fort Jesus, where your local guide will connect you to the impactful, often sombre history of the island's early encounters with the outside world, including trade in slaves, ivory, and precious metals.

Transportation to either your hotel or the airport will be provided for your convenience.
