A detailed gear check will be conducted to ensure you are fully prepared for the climb. You will have time to relax, organize your equipment, and recover from your journey. Day 2
Arusha to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

After breakfast, drive to the northern side of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border to reach Rongai Gate. After registration, begin your trek through farmland and pine forest. The trail is gentle and less crowded, offering a peaceful start to your climb. You may spot wildlife such as colobus monkeys along the way. Gradually ascend to Simba Camp, located on the edge of the moorland zone with views of the Kenyan plains. Enjoy dinner and rest as you begin acclimatizing to the altitude. Overnight at Simba Camp.

Today’s trek is shorter but steeper as you climb toward Mawenzi Tarn, situated beneath the dramatic spires of Mawenzi Peak. Cross the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, a vast high-altitude desert with little vegetation. The terrain is dry and exposed, and the altitude makes the trek more challenging. Arrive at Kibo Hut, the base camp for your summit attempt. After lunch, rest and prepare for the midnight ascent. Your guide will brief you on the summit strategy, including pacing and safety.
