Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

On the first day, your guide will pick you up early from your accommodation and take you to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire’s diverse landscape, with its nine vegetation zones, is dotted with ancient baobab trees—the largest in Africa. The Tarangire River, which winds through the park, attracts a wealth of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of colorful birds. The park is especially famous for having Tanzania’s largest elephant population, giving you the unique opportunity to observe many elephant families interacting. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory within the park, offering a perfect view of animals drinking from the river—perhaps even a glimpse of a lion on the hunt. After lunch, you’ll continue your game drive until late afternoon, before heading to your Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll depart from your campsite and head to the Ngorongoro Crater entrance. Descend 600 meters (2,000 feet) to the crater floor for a morning game drive in one of the world’s most wildlife-rich regions. Home to about 30,000 animals, the crater offers a haven for wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, elephants, and some of Tanzania’s last black rhinos. It also boasts a high density of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards.

Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch within the crater, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. Later, ascend the crater rim and begin your return journey to Arusha. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred directly to the airport for your onward flight, ending your safari with ease and lasting memories of Tanzania’s incredible natural wonders.
