Day 1

Upon arrival in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your lodge surrounded by lush greenery and views of Mount Meru. As you settle in, take time to relax and recover from your journey in a peaceful natural setting filled with birdlife and fresh mountain air.

Day 2

Tarangire National park

After breakfast, depart from Arusha for a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, covering approximately 120 km in about 2 to 3 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.

Upon arrival, enjoy a full-day game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes of open savannah, acacia woodlands, and iconic baobab trees. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large elephant herds and the Tarangire River, which attracts abundant wildlife such as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a rich variety of birdlife.

Day 3

Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich destination located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, approximately 100 km from Karatu, taking about 2–3 hours by road. The journey offers scenic views of rolling highlands, rural villages, and vast open plains.

Upon arrival, immerse yourself in a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in Africa. Join them on an early morning hunting expedition, learn traditional survival skills, and gain insight into their ancient way of life. You may also visit the Datoga people, skilled blacksmiths known for their craftsmanship and pastoral lifestyle.

The area around Lake Eyasi features a beautiful, seasonal soda lake surrounded by dramatic landscapes and abundant birdlife, including flamingos during certain times of the year. Enjoy a guided nature walk along the lake shores before heading to your lodge, reflecting on a truly authentic cultural encounter.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. The drive from Karatu takes approximately 1–1.5 hours, followed by a scenic descent of 600 meters into the crater floor.

Enjoy a full-day game drive across the crater’s diverse ecosystems, including open grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes. This natural enclosure supports an incredible concentration of wildlife, offering one of the best chances to spot the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino. You may also encounter hippos, zebras, wildebeests and a variety of bird species.

A picnic lunch will be served near a hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, continue exploring before ascending the crater and drive back to Arusha. Ending the day with unforgettable wildlife experiences.
