Day 1

Coast Region – Tsavo East National Park

Coast Region – Tsavo East National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel at the coast. You’ll depart on a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park, entering through the Bachuma Gate or Sala Gate, depending on your location. Once inside the park, your game drive starts immediately, offering a chance to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, zebras, and many more. Tsavo East is famous for its vast open plains and red-dust-covered elephants, often seen near the Galana River or Aruba Dam. You’ll break for lunch at a lodge or tented camp within the park, followed by some leisure time. In the afternoon, head out again for a sunset game drive, taking in the park’s stunning landscape and its wild inhabitants. As the day winds down, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay inside or just outside Tsavo East.

Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, you’ll check out and drive toward Tsavo West National Park, passing through Mzima Springs or Mtito Andei Gate. The drive itself is scenic and may include wildlife sightings along the way. On entering Tsavo West, the landscape transforms dramatically—lush greenery, rolling hills, volcanic formations, and lava flows replace the open plains of the East. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a short game drive en route to your lodge or camp, where lunch will be served. After a rest, head out for an afternoon game drive, which may include a visit to Mzima Springs, a natural spring-fed oasis where you can see hippos and crocodiles underwater through a viewing chamber. Wildlife here includes elephants, leopards, buffalos, and a wide variety of birds. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay in the heart of the park.

Tsavo West – Return to Coast Region

Wake up early for a morning game drive, the best time to catch predators returning from a night’s hunt and other animals beginning their day. If you didn’t visit Mzima Springs the day before, this morning is also a great time to do so. After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to the Coast Region. You’ll enjoy some final game viewing along the way before exiting the park and heading toward your beach hotel. Arrival is expected in the afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s wild beauty.
