After a briefing, depart north through the scenic highlands, passing lush coffee and pineapple plantations. Cross the equator at Nanyuki and descend into the dramatic semi-arid landscape of Samburu. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, followed by some rest. In the afternoon, head out for your first thrilling game drive across the rugged terrain, where palm-fringed riverbanks attract elephants, lions, and the distinctive Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Return at sunset to enjoy dinner under a starlit sky and overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

The morning drive offers great chances to spot predators on the move and herds of elephants along the Ewaso Nyiro River. The park’s dramatic scenery — dry riverbeds, rocky outcrops, and acacia-dotted plains — provides the perfect backdrop for photography. Return to camp for lunch and a refreshing break before heading out again in the afternoon. Learn about the Samburu people’s traditions and enjoy sightings of leopard and cheetah, which thrive here in healthy numbers. As the sun sets, return to camp for an elegant dinner and perhaps a storytelling session by the bonfire before retiring for the night.

Day 3
Samburu – Aberdare National Park

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive toward the lush central highlands. The scenery changes dramatically as arid plains give way to forested hills and cool mountain air. Arrive at Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch, then transfer to your tree lodge set deep within Aberdare National Park. The rest of the day is spent relaxing and observing wildlife from viewing decks overlooking the lodge’s floodlit waterhole. Elephants, buffalo, and bushbuck often visit to drink, and lucky guests may spot a leopard or giant forest hog. The Aberdares’ tranquil atmosphere, crisp air, and thick bamboo forests create a magical experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge, with wildlife viewing continuing into the night.

Day 4

After breakfast, journey down the Great Rift Valley escarpment, stopping briefly at scenic viewpoints to admire the vast landscapes below. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive through this compact yet wildlife-rich park. Famous for its population of both black and white rhinos, Nakuru also shelters lions, leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, and large flocks of pelicans and flamingos that gather on the lake’s alkaline waters. The surrounding cliffs and woodlands are home to baboons and colobus monkeys, making every turn a surprise. Return to your lodge in the evening to enjoy dinner with panoramic views of the lake and overnight at your accommodation.

Amboseli is renowned for its large herds of elephants, often seen crossing the dusty plains in front of the mountain. Other highlights include lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and a variety of plains game. Later, transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
