Nairobi to Ol Pejeta – Afternoon Game Drive
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta – Afternoon Game Drive
Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading north through the lush central highlands of Kenya. After approximately 3.5 to 4 hours on the road, you’ll arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp.
After settling in and enjoying a hearty lunch, embark on your first game drive in the afternoon. As you explore the plains and acacia-dotted landscapes, you may encounter elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, and a wide variety of antelope species. With luck, you might even spot the elusive leopard. The conservancy is also home to East Africa’s largest population of black rhinos and the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world.
Return to your lodge in the early evening, where you can unwind, enjoy a delicious dinner, and listen to the distant sounds of wildlife under the star-filled African sky.

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive while the animals are most active. Your professional guide will help you track wildlife and share insights into animal behavior, the ecology of the conservancy, and the unique conservation programs in place.
During the mid-morning, you’ll visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees.
Later, visit the endangered species enclosure, a 700-acre sanctuary within Ol Pejeta where you’ll have the rare opportunity to see the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. This moving experience highlights the critical importance of conservation work being done here.
After a picnic lunch in the bush or a return to the lodge for a hot meal, you can enjoy some leisure time in the afternoon or opt for another afternoon game drive to catch predators on the hunt.
