Rise and shine early this morning as you embark on your exciting wildebeest calving safari! Your journey takes you west through the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a brief stop to admire the breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater. After about 5 or 6 hours on the road, you’ll arrive in the Ndutu region, at the southern tip of the Serengeti.

Ndutu is a true gem, with lush green plains dotted with flat-topped acacia trees, shallow alkaline lakes teeming with flamingos and other birds, and, of course, the incredible sight of thousands of newborn wildebeest. As you travel through the bush, keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of young antelope hidden among the herds — your safari adventure is just beginning!

Tonight, you’ll rest in the comfort of Kontiki Ndutu Camp, where you can unwind and reflect on your first day in this magnificent wildlife haven.

Today, you’ll have the freedom to explore the lush Ndutu savanna, home to calving wildebeest and a wealth of wildlife you’ve come to see. Ndutu is especially famous for cheetah sightings, and the Serengeti is brimming with lions and hyenas, so there’s always something exciting around every corner. Whether you choose to head back to camp for lunch or opt for a picnic-style meal right in the bush, you’ll enjoy the thrill of dining surrounded by the stunning wildlife of Tanzania.

These are the moments that define an authentic safari — there’s nothing quite like enjoying your lunch while watching massive herds of wildebeest and zebras roam nearby. After a day filled with incredible experiences, you’ll return to Kontiki Ndutu Camp for a relaxing dinner and a peaceful night’s rest.

After a delicious breakfast, your day will begin with an exciting game drive in the Ndutu area, where you’ll explore its rich wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Spend the morning on a thrilling half-day game drive, keeping your eyes peeled for the many animals that call this place home. Then, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.

After lunch, we’ll head to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for a scenic 75 km drive that will take about 2.5 hours. Along the way, you'll have the chance to spot more wildlife, making the journey just as memorable as the destination. The Ngorongoro Crater is truly a geological wonder, offering a sanctuary of untamed wilderness.

As the day comes to an end, you’ll savor a delicious dinner and retreat to the comfort of Marera Valley Lodge, where you can relax and unwind after a day full of adventure and natural beauty.
