Day 1
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
We pick you up this morning from your Arusha accommodation and transfer you the short distance to the airport for your flight into Serengeti National Park. The flight is part of a daily route that often stops at a number of bush airstrips to deliver/collect other travellers. Upon arrival, you are greeted by your private camp guide who provides a game drive transfer to the camp. Along the way, he will discuss your preferred fame driving itinerary for this afternoon and the following two days.

Day 2-3
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Your stay here is totally flexible. Your guide will discuss your preferred game driving schedule, which can include short game drives returning to camp after 2-3 hours and/or full day game drives with a packed lunch on board. Time spent viewing the annual Great Migration can, of course, also be included if the herds are in the area. On one of your mornings, we can also include an exciting sunrise balloon flight followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush.
The Serengeti’s immense landscape is simply stunning. This big-sky, untamed wilderness is renowned for its grassland plains punctuated with rocky outcrops (koppies) in the southeast. The Western Corridor follows the Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers with associated riverine forests toward Lake Victoria, while the Lobo Hills area is characterized by big granite boulders reaching up in the sky. Farther north, the Mara River sets the scene for the famous river crossings, the ultimate highlight of the wildebeest migration.

Day 4
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda
Your camp guide now returns you to the airstrip for your day’s journey to the equatorial forests of East Africa — home to the mountain gorilla. You first fly to the Tanzanian hub of Musoma on the shores of Lake Victoria to complete departure immigration procedures. The flight then continues to Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport, where you complete arrival immigration procedures before flying onwards to Kihihi. You are met at the airstrip by your guide, Justus, who provides a 4x4 transfer to Buhoma, the village overlooking the “gorilla forest”.
This evening, Justus and the lodge management will confirm the timings and logistics for tomorrow's gorilla trek.

Day 5
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Justus transfers you this morning to the starting point of your gorilla trek, where you meet your park ranger and can hire a porter to assist you along the way, should you wish. The trek can last between 1-5+ hours, but is usually somewhere near the lesser time due to the rangers knowing the general location of the family that they have assigned you to visit.
This afternoon offers time to visit some of the community projects in the village, as well as taking in the ambience of being in the unique environment of Equatorial East Africa — and perhaps enjoy a post-trek massage at the lodge's in-house spa.
While we understand the additional time/expense might not be practical, we always urge our travellers to extend their safari by an extra day in order to enjoy a second trek to a different gorilla family. You will most likely be here only once, and by booking two treks, you are greatly increasing your chances of some once-in-a-lifetime quality time in the presence of these gentle giants.

Day 6
Farewell
Farewell
This morning, you'll enjoy a scenic transfer past mountains and through villages to Kihihi Airstrip, from where you fly back to Entebbe and your onward travels.
Most long-haul international flights depart Entebbe between 11:00 pm and 3:00 am, and rather than stay within the confines of the airport for such a long time, we can include an afternoon/evening at a boutique guesthouse in Entebbe as well as a sunset cruise on nearby Lake Victoria.
