Day 1

Morning: You'll depart early from Addis Ababa and drive south to Bale Mountains National Park (approximately 7–8 hours). You will enjoy scenic views of the Rift Valley along the route. You will have an opportunity for the wildlife viewing activities.
Afternoon: You'll arrive at Dinsho, the park headquarters, for an introduction to the park and a leisurely hike in the surrounding forest. Look out for Menelik’s Bushbuck and Mountain Nyala, two endemic mammals frequently spotted in this area.
Birdwatching highlights: Wattled Ibis, Spot-Breasted Lapwing, Rouget’s Rail, Blue-Winged Goose, and Abyssinian Long Claw.
Overnight: Camping at Dinsho or nearby lodge.

Day 2
Trek to Sodota

Morning: You will begin your trek from Dinsho, passing through the lush Afro-alpine vegetation. Look for Mountain Nyala, Bushbuck, and other wildlife.
Midday Break: You will rest at Habera Waterfall, a scenic spot perfect for photos and relaxation.
Afternoon: You will continue trekking to Sodota. Keep an eye out for the Ethiopian Wolf, Africa’s rarest canid, and the surrounding avian life.
Trekking duration: 6–7 hours.
Overnight: Camping at Sodota.

Day 3

Morning: You will depart from Sodota and head toward Wasama through breathtaking highland scenery. You'll pass through the Mararo Valley, a known nesting site for the Lammergeyer and Verreaux's Eagles.
Wildlife encounters: Likely sightings include the Ethiopian Wolf and various raptors soaring above.
Trekking duration: 5–6 hours.
Overnight stay: Camping at Wasama.

Day 4

Morning: You'll start with an ascent of Mt. Wasama (4 200m), the highest point of the trek, offering sweeping views of the park. Midday Break: You will descend into the Worgona Valley, an area teeming with birdlife like falcons and raptors. Afternoon: You'll conclude the day at Lake Gebre Gurracha, meaning black lake, a serene spot for relaxation. Trekking duration: 6–7 hours. Overnight stay: Camping at Gebre Gurracha.
