Pick-up in Lusaka & Transfer to McBrides' Camp

Begin your adventure with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Lusaka. Meet your guide and set off on a scenic 4–5 hour drive toward the McBrides’ area, traveling through rural Zambia, passing local villages and open landscapes, with possible wildlife sightings along the way. Comfort stops are taken en route, accompanied by insights from your guide.

On arrival at the campsite at McBrides’, camp is set up ( a helping hand is always welcome ), with comfortable canvas dome tents pitched in a beautiful bush setting. Enjoy a refreshing drink and a short briefing once camp is established. The camp is simple, well equipped, and designed to immerse you fully in the surrounding wilderness.

As evening falls, gather around the campfire while dinner is prepared and served under the stars. After a relaxed evening listening to the sounds of the African bush, retire to your canvas dome tent for a restful night, ready for the days ahead.

Exploring Kafue – Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Morning: Early game drive
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Explore the surrounding wilderness in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and a variety of antelope, while your guide interprets animal behavior and the diverse ecosystems of Kafue.

Afternoon: Boat cruise or game drive
After a relaxed brunch at camp, head out for an afternoon activity. Depending on conditions and availability, enjoy a scenic boat cruise offering a different perspective of the park, with excellent chances to see hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Alternatively, continue exploring by vehicle on an afternoon game drive, following wildlife movements as temperatures cool.

Evening: Campfire dinner and relaxation
Return to camp as the light softens. Dinner is prepared and served in camp, followed by time to unwind around the campfire, sharing stories and listening to the sounds of the African bush as night falls.

Full-day Game Drive - Immersing in Kafue's WIlderness

Morning: Early game drive
Set out on an early morning game drive, making the most of the cooler hours when wildlife is most active. Explore Kafue National Park’s diverse landscapes, from open plains to woodlands and riverine areas, with excellent opportunities to encounter a wide range of wildlife.

Late Morning / Midday: Transfer game drive
Return to camp by mid-morning to pack up and prepare for departure. Continue the journey as a transfer game drive toward Kasabushi Camp, combining travel with ongoing wildlife viewing. A relaxed picnic or light lunch is enjoyed en route in a remote bush setting.

Evening: Camp setup and dinner
Arrive at Kasabushi Camp in the late afternoon and set up camp in a scenic wilderness location. As evening settles in, gather around the campfire for dinner under the stars, ending the day to the natural sounds of the African bush.

Game drives and Lookout Rock

Morning: Game drive – Sable Loop & Parrot Pool
Head south in the morning to explore the Sable Loop and Parrot Pool Loop, two productive areas known for their varied habitats and strong wildlife sightings. Continue to a scenic lookout point, where sweeping views over the surrounding landscape provide a rewarding pause.

Midday: Lunch and rest
Return to camp around midday for lunch, followed by a relaxed siesta during the warmer hours of the day.

Afternoon: Sunset boat cruise
In the late afternoon, depart for a sunset boat cruise on the Kafue River (subject to availability). Enjoy the changing light, tranquil river scenery, and sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and a rich variety of birdlife.

Evening: Campfire dinner
As night falls, return to camp where dinner is prepared over the open fire and served under the stars, ending the day accompanied by the sounds of the African bush.

Midday: Transfer game drive and return to Lusaka
Depart on a transfer game drive out of Kafue National Park, combining your exit with final wildlife sightings across the park’s scenic landscapes. Continue onward to Lusaka, reflecting on the memorable moments and authentic bush experiences of your safari.
