Departure from Dar es salaam and Afternoon Game drive

Your safari adventure begins in Dar es Salaam, where you will be transferred to the SGR train station for a comfortable morning journey to Morogoro. Enjoy the scenic train ride through Tanzania’s changing landscapes, passing local villages, farms, and beautiful countryside views along the way.

Upon arrival at Morogoro SGR station, you will be welcomed by your Safari 56 driver-guide and continue the journey by road towards Mikumi National Park. The drive offers impressive views of the Uluguru Mountains, rural communities, and the natural beauty of southern Tanzania.

Arrive at Mikumi in time for lunch before heading out for your first afternoon game drive. Explore the park’s open savannah plains while searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, warthogs, antelopes, and a variety of bird species. As the sun sets over the wilderness, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight relaxation.

Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day wildlife adventure inside Mikumi National Park. With your professional guide, explore different areas of the park during morning and afternoon game drives, taking advantage of the best wildlife viewing times.

Mikumi’s open grasslands and water sources create an excellent environment for wildlife encounters. During your safari, you may spot large elephant herds, lions resting in the shade, giraffes feeding among acacia trees, buffaloes moving across the plains, and zebras and wildebeest grazing in large groups.

Enjoy a picnic lunch or lodge lunch before continuing with your afternoon game drive. The park’s peaceful atmosphere and fewer crowds provide an authentic safari experience, allowing you to appreciate Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes at a relaxed pace.

Later in the afternoon, return to Bastian Camp for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Morning Game Drive and Departure

After breakfast, enjoy your final moments in Mikumi before checking out and beginning your journey back towards Morogoro. Depending on your schedule, you may have an optional short morning game drive for one last opportunity to view Tanzania’s wildlife.

Upon arrival at Morogoro SGR station, board the train back to Dar es Salaam. Relax during the comfortable journey while enjoying views of Tanzania’s countryside and local communities along the route.

Arrive in Dar es Salaam later in the day, where you will be transferred to your hotel, residence, airport, or preferred drop-off location. Your 3-Day Mikumi National Park Safari concludes with unforgettable memories of wildlife encounters, scenic landscapes, and authentic Tanzania safari experiences.
