Day 3

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will set out on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The Masai Mara is renowned for its black-maned lions and its remarkable abundance of resident wildlife. It is also one of the few places where it is possible to encounter the Big Five during a single morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so accustomed to vehicles that they may rest in the shade beneath them, and some even climb onto the roof to gain a better vantage point of potential prey.

For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded in the reserve. These include 16 species of eagle, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vulture, eight species of stork, four types of bustard (including the kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird) and nine species of sunbird.
