Day 1
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
You will be picked up from your home/hotel and driven to Nanyuki. En route, you will have a brief stopover at the equator crossing, an imaginary line that divides the Earth into 2 hemispheres: north and south. There is a big sign where you will be able to take a photo saying you are now crossing the equator, then proceed with the journey.
You'll arrive and check in at your camp. After lunch, you'll depart for a wildlife viewing drive passing through the chimpanzee sanctuary.
Ol Pejeta is a privately owned game reserve, overlooking the peaks of Mount Kenya. The conservancy also has a special sanctuary that shelters several endangered species like black rhino, Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and chimpanzees. The sanctuary is the only one in Kenya and a home for orphaned and abused chimpanzees, rehabilitating them to help them learn to live by themselves.
You'll return to the camp by evening.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp or similar. (Full Board).
