As we ascend into the highlands, we'll reach elevations of over 2,900 meters (9,500 feet) above sea level—please be aware that temperatures can drop, especially at night, so warm clothing is recommended.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Experience 1

After an early breakfast, your Topi Tours guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing before the start of your gorilla trekking adventure at 8:00 AM. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a spectacular environment—thick with vegetation and crisscrossed by wildlife trails that provide access into this unique ecosystem.

The duration and difficulty of the trek vary depending on the location of the gorilla families, whose movements are unpredictable. Once located, you’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are shy but peaceful creatures, and witnessing their behaviour up close—feeding, grooming, and playing—is a truly memorable and awe-inspiring experience.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Experience 2

We Offer a second opportunity to trek and observe a different gorilla family, providing a deeper appreciation of these magnificent primates and their forest habitat. As with the first trek, departure is after an early breakfast with a briefing at the park headquarters before heading into the forest.

After returning from the trek, you may choose to take part in an optional community walk—an enriching experience that offers insight into the local culture and way of life—or simply unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge.

Return to Kampala After a beautiful night in the foothills of the gorilla land

Today, we begin our return journey to Entebbe with a relaxed start to the day. Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside as we make our way back. Along the way, we’ll stop at the Equator Mall—a perfect opportunity to enjoy a coffee, stretch your legs, purchase any craft materials at several souvenir shops along the way while You embark on the road drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for a departure, Arrival in Entebbe will be in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on road conditions.
