4-Day Mikumi & Udzungwa Mountains National Park Safari

Travel by SGR train from Dar'Salaam to Morogoro, followed by a road transfer to Mikumi National Park

Program of the day: In the morning, you will depart from Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park, passing through Morogoro and enjoying scenic views of the Uluguru Mountains along the way. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Mikumi’s Mkata Floodplain, often compared to the Serengeti, offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. You may spot lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Game Drive inside the Mikumi National Park

Program: After breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in the park. Exploring different areas of Mikumi, including waterholes where hippos and crocodiles are commonly seen, you will have ample opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Your guide will provide insights into the animals’ behavior and the park’s ecosystem. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. As the sun sets, you will return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Drive to Udzungwa Mountains for Full Hike to Sanje Waterfall then back to the Camp

Program: After breakfast, drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park for an exciting full-day hiking adventure through lush tropical forests, scenic trails, and beautiful natural landscapes. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, trek to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, one of Tanzania’s most impressive waterfalls, cascading approximately 170 metres down the mountainside. Along the way, discover unique plant species, tropical birds, and fascinating wildlife, including endemic monkeys, while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. At the waterfall, take time to relax, admire the scenery, and capture memorable photographs. After completing your hike, descend along the trail and drive back to camp for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Maasai Village Tour and Transfer to Morogoro SGR Station – Return to Dar es Salaam

Program: Enjoy an enriching cultural experience with a visit to a traditional Maasai village, where you’ll discover the community’s customs, traditions, traditional dress, and way of life. Learn about their unique cultural heritage and daily activities while interacting respectfully with local community members. After this memorable experience, your driver will transfer you to Morogoro SGR Station in time for your scheduled train to Dar es Salaam. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the comfortable journey as your Tanzanian adventure comes to an end.
