Day 1

Nairobi – Amboseli

At 7:00 hrs your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport or Nairobi area residence. We’ll head out in our private 4 x 4 Jeep for Amboseli National Park which is 240km and approx 4 hrs drive on the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway. We’ll spend the evening in Amboseli at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Your drive will take you through Masai country and towards the guiding iconic form of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. We should arrive at Amboseli in the late morning with plenty of time to freshen up and enjoy lunch at your accommodation. Then we’re off in our private 4 x 4 to track wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelle, and lion. You won’t need to track elephants as the park always offers ample herds for our viewing enjoyment. You will spend the evening in Amboseli at your lodge or tented camp.
With Kilimanjaro standing, watch over the reserve like a giant picture postcard you’ll love taking photos in this busy and scenic park.

Day 2

Amboseli- Lake Naivasha

You’re going to enjoy several more game drives at Amboseli, starting with an early morning jaunt in our 4 x 4 to see the sunlight breaking over the park and perhaps some elephants on their way to breakfast. You will also have your breakfast at our accommodation and then set out for an extra drive through the park, catching last glimpses of the wildlife and the mighty mountain. Now you’re on your way traveling over the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha which is 340km approx 6 hrs and will stop in Nairobi at a noted restaurant to enjoy lunch. You will proceed on your journey reaching Lake Naivasha in the late afternoon. You may take a fun boat safari across the pretty lake, sailing by hippos, fish and taking in cormorant, pelican and perhaps see zebra and antelope grazing over on the shore. You will spend the night Naivasha Kongoni lodge.

Day 3

Lake Naivasha- Masai Mara

You will rise with the sun for a game drive or boating safari over the lake. There’s so much to do in the Lake Naivasha area. You will take a guided walking safari to the nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Acre for acre this park has more animals than any other Kenyan park and you’ll stroll by as they peacefully graze. We can also offer an optional bicycle ride over to Hell’s Gate National Park for more hiking close to the wildlife. Just ask your driver/guide to arrange this for you otherwise it’s time to set out for the most famous wildlife park in the world – Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll arrive in time for a game drive and get your first taste of the sweep, the beauty and the active wildlife inhabiting this famous park. All of Africa’s Big Five are here, and sightings of lions and cheetahs are common. You’ll spend the first of two nights at the Masai Mara at your safari lodge.

Day 4

Full day Masai Mara

Full day Masai Mara

Masai Mara is known for having the highest density of wildlife in the region. Get up early to track the wildlife over hills for predators but also some of the 90 species of mammals filling the ecosystem. The reserve is also home to the Great Migration (July – October), when hordes of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra by the tens of thousands cross over the Mara River into the park on their yearly quest for tall fresher grasses on which to feed. You’ll take a picnic lunch at the Mara River, within sight of hippos, crocodiles and if during the migration season, splendid views of the invading herds crossing into the park, in a sight unmatched anywhere. You can enjoy(optional) a visit to the local Maasai people in the nearby village and learn about their culture and buy their colourful jewelry or a pre-dawn hot air balloon safari over the park and imagine viewing the Mara come alive with the new day as the wildlife emerges onto the savannah. Final night at the Masai Mara will be at the lodge.

Day 5

After breakfast at your lodge, your driver guide will assist you to checkout and proceed to Nairobi city. On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges “. You can opt to drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions and pass by Kiambethu farm for the tea farm tour inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (at an extra cost or drive straight to Nairobi airport or your accommodation. From the great elephants at Amboseli to close-up game watching at Lake Naivasha to the splendor of land and wildlife at Masai Mara, this has been a safari adventure to remember.
