Mandara Hut is the first overnight stop on the Marangu Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. Located at about 2,700 meters (8,858 ft), it sits within the lush rainforest zone. The camp features wooden A-frame huts with bunk beds, dining facilities, and running water. Surrounded by rich vegetation and wildlife, it offers a comfortable and scenic resting point before heading toward Horombo Hut.

Day 2
Horombo hut

The trek from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut takes you from the lush rainforest into the open moorland zone. As you climb to about 3,720 meters (12,200 ft), the vegetation changes to heathers and giant lobelias, offering wide views of Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. The trail is moderately steep and takes around 5–6 hours, ending at Horombo Hut, where climbers rest and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Day 3
Kibo Hut

The trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut takes you through the alpine desert zone as you ascend to about 4,700 meters (15,420 ft). The landscape becomes rocky and sparse, with dramatic views of Kibo Peak ahead. This moderate-to-strenuous hike usually takes 5–6 hours, preparing climbers for the final summit attempt from Kibo Hut the following night.

Day 4
Uhuru Peak
Uhuru Peak
The climb from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak is the final and most challenging stage of the Marangu Route. Starting around midnight, trekkers ascend in the cold and dark to reach Stella Point on the crater rim, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise. The trek is steep and strenuous, taking 6–8 hours up and 3–4 hours down, offering breathtaking views of glaciers, the crater, and the African plains below.

Day 5
Horombo - Marangu Gate
Horombo - Marangu Gate
The descent from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate is the final stage of the Marangu Route. Trekking downhill through moorland and rainforest, climbers enjoy the lush scenery one last time. The hike typically takes 5–6 hours, ending at Marangu Gate, where climbers receive their summit certificates and conclude their Kilimanjaro adventure and the client will be drof off in Arusha town any hotel around.
