Your Maven Tanzania Safaris guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. Today, you’ll journey to Tarangire National Park, about a two-and-a-half-hour drive along well-maintained tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the sole water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season.
Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds, offering incredible opportunities to witness these majestic creatures by the river. You’ll also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, with predators like lions and leopards often nearby. The park is home to the highest diversity of bird species on Earth, and its landscape is dotted with ancient baobab trees, some believed to be over a thousand years old. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park before your game drive continues. Afterward, you’ll head to your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast, you’ll depart from Serengeti National Park and make your way to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach, your first glimpse of the crater is truly awe-inspiring its vast floor encircled by steep volcanic walls, like a hidden world frozen in time.
Here, a pristine wilderness unfolds before you: sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. This rich environment supports a thriving array of wildlife, from wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles to over 500 bird species. You’ll also have a rare opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, often seen grazing in the open grasslands—an incredible sight in its natural habitat.
After an exhilarating game drive in the crater, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in time for your flight home or onward to your next exciting destination.
