By midday, you will arrive in the Serengeti, a name derived from the Maasai word Serenget, meaning "Endless Plains." As Tanzania’s largest national park, it boasts an incredible variety of landscapes, from vast grasslands and shimmering lakes to swamps and rugged mountains. The park is home to the legendary Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras traverse the terrain in search of fresh grazing, an awe-inspiring sight depending on the season.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the vast wilderness of Serengeti National Park on thrilling game drives. This iconic park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is best known for the awe-inspiring Great Migration, where massive herds of zebras and wildebeest move across the plains in search of fresh grazing.

The migration patterns are dictated by rainfall and shift from year to year. From November to December, the herds travel from the northern woodlands and hills to the lush southern plains. During the long rainy season from April to June, they make their way back north.

After an unforgettable day of wildlife encounters, return to your campsite inside the Serengeti for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
